After building anticipations for weeks, Ziddi Ishq is finally streaming on JioHotstar (accessible via OTTplay Premium) today, November 21 with seven episodes. While the first episode is titled 'First Meeting', the second one titled 'Jinxed Fate', the third one 'A Painful Incident', the fourth one 'The Bitter Truth', the fifth one 'A Stranger', the sixth one 'Beautiful Valleys', and the seventh one 'The Final Path'. What's the story of Ziddi Ishq

While the thriller series is the Hindi remake of Subhashree Ganguly's 2019 Bengali movie, Parineeta, the storyline takes a massive turn with an action-packed revenge plot, which is missing in the original one. Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Aaditi Pohankar stars in the leads as Shekhar Da and Mehul, who have a teacher-student connection with one-sided love. However, things take a dark turn when Shekhar Da attempts suicide, leaving behind a trail of suspicions and a devastated Mehul.

The more the story delves in, the more it brings out a a hidden truth of crime, blackmailing, a huge racket that's connected with Shekhar Da's death, all linked with a company called Unicorn and its CEO Siddharth Roy Choudhury (Sumeet Vyas). This revelation makes Mehul determined to go any lengths to find out the truth and get revenge on behalf of Shekhar Da.

Ziddi Ishq as a remake of Parineeta

The main difference between the two is Parineeta is a movie, whereas Ziddi Ishq is a series adaptation. The central plot of both revolves around an unrequited love story where one-sided obsession takes you to any lengths. And for such character portayal, both Shubhashree Ganguly in the movie and Aaditi Pohankar in the series did a brilliant job.

Other pivotal characters played by Sumeet Vyas, Barkha Bisht and Priyanshu Painyuli left a significant mark. In the original Bengali movie, their characters were portayed by Gaurav Chakrabarty, Falaque Rashid Roy and Adrit Roy.

Despite following the same storyline, the dark crime turns different in the series, compared to the movie. While Parineeta follows a a simple cheating scandal between Babaida (Ritwick Chakrabarty) and his lover, Ziddi Ishq turns darker with more criminal activities that leads Mehul to Darjeeling to catch a racket and fight hand-to-hand with goons.
