Several political dramas are made in several languages, but the Maharani series, every time, proves why it is one of a kind and why fans eagerly await a new season of this series every year. Maharani Season 4 takes a sharper, bolder, and more personal take this time, which will leave you emotional as well as angry. It is needless to say that season 4 was made with utmost care, and every detail was taken care of.

Political thriller shows on OTTplay

Vipin Sharma joins Maharani Season 4 as the Prime Minister of India, Shree Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi, the main opponent of Huma Qureshi's Rani Bharti. The political tension rises when the PM starts to lose his team because it is claimed that under the leadership of Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi, there is anarchy going on.

Both parties try to let each other down by providing various information. PM's team accuses Rani Bharti of the murder of Governor Govardhan Das. The whole plan was decided with the help of Navin Kumar. Rani Bharti goes to the PM's house and warns him not to challenge her and promises to her daughter, Roshni (Shweta Basu Prasad) that she will take the throne of PM.

Following this, Rani Bharti decides to resign her Chief Minister role to take revenge on Joshi. After a political turmoil and rising tension within Rani's team, she chooses her daughter, Roshni Bharti, as the new CM of Bihar. Meanwhile, this leads Rani's son, Jai, to think that he is not worth anything. This decision also shocks Rani's team members, Kaveri and Mishra.

Maharani Season 4 highlights the tension that has the potential to break a bond in a political family. With Roshni being the new CM, the trajectory of Rani Bharti's team has changed. Not only her team but also her family dynamics start to change.

The plot revolves around a confrontation between two powerful political figures, with ambitions, betrayals, and changing loyalties shaping the conflict. While Rani is becoming the ex-CM of Bihar, she aims to become the Prime Minister of India, leaving Joshi puzzled. However, Joshi continues to let Rani down.

Towards the end, one shocking incident in Rani's family changes everything. The incident raises more anger in Rani, and she promises to take revenge, hinting at Maharani Season 5. The series highlights how history repeats itself, and Karma is watching all to demolish the villain.

Speaking about performances, Huma Qureshi once again proves why Rani Bharti is one of the strongest female characters in Indian web series. She brings a perfect blend of passion, authority and fire to her performance. Her portrayal of a woman balancing politics, family and revenge is both unsettling and inspiring.

Vipin Sharma delivers a commanding and layered performance as the PM. The portrayal of a leader who gradually loses control of power while trying to surpass Rani Bharati adds depth and importance to the story.

As Rani’s daughter and the new CM of Bihar, Shweta Basu Prasad shines with maturity and confidence. She beautifully portrays Roshni's internal conflict — torn between loyalty to her mother and the pressures of leadership. Her performance adds emotional weight to the family drama. On the other hand, Jai's emotional arc, which feels shadowy and directionless, is delivered with sensitivity and restraint. His journey adds a poignant layer to the story — showing how political ambition can break even the closest family ties. Meanwhile, Darsheel Safary plays the youngest son of Rani Bharti, who adds emotional depth to the plot.
