The Pet Detective Review - Sharaf U Dheen is one of the few young Malayalam actors who is praised for both his ability to play any role well and his knack for conveying humour with simplicity. This strength of his is seamlessly utilised by Praneesh Vijayan for his latest directorial, which can be termed as a comedy born out of chaos.

To gain the goodwill of his lover Kaikeyi Menon's father, Tony Jose Alula takes on his father's detective firm, which was originally based in Mexico. Despite having a drab beginning as an investigator who isn't very competent, he discovers that solving cases involving missing pets is his calling. Soon, he is drawn into a dangerous kidnapping case involving criminal syndicates and a murderer, though, as part of one of his investigations. Could this be the pivotal moment in his journey as an investigator forms the crux of the film?

As anticipated, the movie is worth seeing if you occasionally appreciate a slapstick comedy. There are no emotionally charged moments or sinister facts about the murderer's past covered in it. Instead, the filmmakers have worked hard to keep the audience delighted with a cast of oddball characters and tumultuous circumstances that connect them all, reminiscent of some of the classic Malayalam comedies. With a twist that does seem unexpected at one point, the makers haven't let the viewers down either.

To some extent, watching The Pet Detective will resemble reading a comic in which the main character waits for his "heroic" moment while hilariously battling a cast of eccentric rivals. People of all ages may enjoy this hero's narrative, soundtracks, and production style, which seem to be taken directly from a comic strip. Vinay Forrt, Joemon Jyothir, Shyam Mohan, Vinayakan, and Vijayaraghavan all contribute to the film's amusing elements, while Sharaf U Dheen shines in his role as Tony Jose Alula.

The remaining members of the cast are merely ploys to propel the plot and have less to give. With some story points left open-ended so that viewers can make their own conclusions, the movie does include predictable factors. The film has nothing new to offer audiences, except for being a simple comedy.

The Pet Detective Verdict - Despite its shortcomings, Sharaf U Dheen's film is unquestionably a one-time watchable entertainer that will appeal to audiences of any age group.
