What a debut for the 22-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk as he went on to smash a 31-ball 50 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The young gun from Delhi Capitals (DC) has been a power-hitter, having smashed 5 maximums and 2 fours.

He had earlier grabbed attention after breaking a record held by AB de Villiers - the fastest List-A 100, getting there in just 29 balls. Now, once again, entertaining fans saw his name trend online, with many stating the Australian batter has arrived in the IPL.

As of writing this article, Jake lost his wicket after scoring 55 off 35 balls. In 16 overs, DC scored 150 runs and lost four wickets. Delhi Capitals need 18 runs in 24 balls to win. The openers, David Warner (8 off 9) and Prithvi Shaw (32 off 22 balls) fell early while Rishab Pant departed for 41 off 24.

Earlier, LSG batter Ayush Badoni (55 off 35) and Arshad Khan (20 off 16) helped them post 167 runs at their home venue, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.

The other LSG batters, Quinton de Kock (19) and skipper KL Rahul (39) started well, but wickets kept falling as Devdutt Padikkal (3), Marcus Stoinis (8), Nicholas Pooran (0), Deepak Hooda (10), and Krunal Pandya (3) all departed.

As for DC bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav picked up three wickets while Khaleel Ahmed took two. Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar both had one wicket each to their name.
