They accomplished this feat, scaling down the highest total in T20 history with 8 balls to spare. Undoubtedly, it will be a memorable and historic game for PBKS, who faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Match 42 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The chase began with Prabhsimran Singh off to a flying start, smashing 54 off just 20 balls, including 5 sixes and 4 fours. However, his fine knock was brought to an end by a run-out. Rossouw entered the fray as Bairstow started finding his rhythm.

The duo faced a tough challenge against Sunil Narine, who managed to dismiss Rossouw. Nonetheless, in-form batter Shashank Singh stepped up and dominated the KKR bowlers, smashing 8 maximums and 2 fours to remain unbeaten on 68 runs. His partner Bairstow remained not out with an impressive 108 runs off 48 balls, featuring 9 sixes and 8 fours.

Venkatesh Iyer added 39 runs off 23 balls before being run out, while Andre Russell scored 24 off 12. Captain Shreyas Iyer managed 28 runs from 10 balls, while Rinku Singh made a minimal impact with 5 runs off 4 balls.

Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets for PBKS, with Sam Curran, Harshal Patel, and Rahul Chahar each taking one wicket. Despite being expensive, Harshal Patel currently holds the Purple Cap for the most wickets in the tournament.
