Australia's captain, Mitchell Marsh, started the T20I series with a six against Lungi Ngidi in the first match of the T20I series against South Africa, at the Marrara Cricket Ground, Darwin. Despite failing to time the shot, the ball went over the fence for a six. The ball was full and came swinging in towards the batter, but Marsh, keeping his eyes on the ball, smashed it for a six over the long-off.

The Australian crowd seemed to enjoy the shot while the South African players on the ground were quite shocked and surprised by the hit. Since the boundary was brought in, the ball cleared the rope. Moreover, he slammed another ball for a boundary after a wide on the second ball.

However, Marsh couldn't impress much with his performance as he was dismissed on just 13 off 7 balls, including one boundary and a six. Travis Head was the first player to get out, followed by Josh Inglis, who was dismissed on a golden duck. It was a failed performance from the Australian batting lineup.

As we write, Australia have already lost six wickets on just 87 runs in nine overs. Well, both teams are playing a T20I bilateral series after almost two years, and Australia wouldn't want to disappoint the crowd in their own home ground. In the ongoing match, the batters kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

They failed to form partnerships and take the game into the final overs. While Tim David was standing on one end, the rest of the batters kept throwing away their wickets. Kagiso Rabada was brilliant with the ball, taking two wickets. He dismissed the openers, leaving the rest of the batters under pressure.

If Australia want to win the match, they’ll have to put up a good total on the board. Any score around 150-160 should be a good one for the bowlers to defend. As the series has just begun, it will be interesting to see such moments in the upcoming matches as well.
