Wimbledon 2025: Last year’s runner-up Jasmine Paolini crashed out of the tournament, leaving Aryna Sabalenka the only top 5 seed still in the running

After the exit of French Open champion Coco Gauff in the first round, Wimbledon saw another top seed crash out on Day 4. Jasmine Paolini, the fourth seed and last year’s runner-up could not get past unseeded Kamilla Rakhimova. Earlier, fourth seed Jessica Pegula and fifth seed Zheng Qinwen faced defeat in the first round.
World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka has a straight set victory and advanced to the third round, as did Elina Svitolina, Emma Raducanu (defeating 2023 champ Marketa Vondrousova), Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Naomi Osaka, Diane Parry, Solana Sierra, Linda Noskova, Amanda Anisimova, Dalma Galfi, Elise Mertens, Cristina Bucsa, Laura Siegemund, Sonay Kartal and Madison Keys.

Day 4 matches will see defending champion Barbora Krejcikova, Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva, Emma Navarro, among many others in action. Matches begin at 3.30 pm (IST) across different courts of Wimbledon, with fans in India able to catch some on Star Sports Network and JioHotstar, with the latter now available with an OTTplay Premium subscription.
With the women playing best of three and not best of five matches, there have been no match suspensions on account of poor light yet, with only four of the 16 matches on July 12 extending into a third set. Swiatek’s match, which is among the last few scheduled for the day, is, of course one of the major encounters on Centre Court.
