The world of action dramas is fascinating. While the ones fighting on screen put in all their effort, our attention is often drawn to the sidelines, where potential threats to our hero lurk. If choreographed and directed well, we become part of the story, following the hero as they beat the enemies to pulp. One such franchise that has taken us on a rollercoaster ride over the years is John Wick. Starring Keanu Reeves in the lead, the John Wick franchise, which debuted in 2014, has given us four movies to marvel over, showcasing crazy levels of action.

John Wick redefines action with each film in the franchise. The last one, however, raised the bar even higher. What stands out in this amazing franchise is the fact that it revolves around a man who is technically out there killing the world of assassins to avenge the murder of his little dog. Regardless of the dog being a gift from his late wife, someone fighting for a dog is already our hero. So, when he persisted even for the fourth time and the trailer hinted that this might bring us close to the end of this story, we were all very much sold already. But the fact that the franchise has blossomed into something so exceptional cannot be ignored, as all four films have massively contributed to the frenzy.

As we marvel over the four John Wick movies on Lionsgate Play, available with your OTTplay Premium subscription, we are listing down some of the most kickass action sequences from these movies that you must revisit if you have already seen them and tune in if you haven't.

Best Action Sequences From John Wick:

The Subway Fight (John Wick: Chapter 2)

The way the action is innovative in John Wick is stellar. This one particular fight from Chapter 2 is a reminder of how genius Chad Stahelski and his team are. It's a subway, where we can see people, and a fight breaks out. But wait, it is silent; no bones are cracking. Two men are going against each other with their silencer-attached guns and not disturbing the civilians. This has to be one of the most interesting one-on-one combats in the entire franchise. Just the idea of a silent fight in a busy subway is so novel because imagine the chaos if one decision goes wrong.

Whatever Happens On Stairs (John Wick: Chapter 4)

Imagine almost all the assassins available assembling to stop one man from reaching the top of a mountain through the stairs. The staircase is where everything unfolds, creating an action sequence that seems never-ending. As an audience, you're only curious to know when these stairs end, and just at that moment, Wick trips and falls down many steps. This fight before the climactic battle in Chapter 4 is what makes the craze crazy, and there's no way any other movie can even think of topping it. The humour, tension, and thrills were all in one place, and everything laced so organically.

The Red Circle Fight (John Wick)

This is where it all began. Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves have established a franchise out of sheer love for action and adrenaline. But it all started here, right here, in the Red Circle Fight in the first film. John Wick was chasing Iosef out of a spa and into a club. The action, choreography, lighting, and even the music of this scene are so futuristic and ahead of their time that it became the highlight of the movie and we were sold for the decade to come.

Knife Store Fight (John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum)

The trajectory of every long-fight sequence in John Wick is fascinating. This one starts as an average John Wick fight, with the main man pitching against a team of assassins. But they are all brought under one roof in a knife store, and things get brutal very soon. It's so innovative that you will be shocked at every twist that comes with the fight.

The Osaka Continental Raid (John Wick: Chapter 4)

This fight was made to give redemption to all the main characters and the fans, causing a massive stir of excitement. It didn't just have John Wick, but every possible character in the Continental, where now the assassins have entered, and Wick needs to find his way out. But wait, the rest are fighting too, and you aren't prepared for the brilliant scenes they are given. The countless assassins keep coming, and these badass people keep taking them down.

All the John Wick films are streaming on Lionsgate Play, and you can watch them with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
