Karan Singh Grover is being showered with love for his performance as Squadron leader Sartaj Gill in Siddharth Anand's Fighter. One of the major highlights of the film is Karan aka Sartaj and Hrithik Roshan aka Patty's friendship. Hence, when OTTplay met Karan Singh Grover for an exclusive interaction, we asked the actor about his real-life bond with Hrithik and how that translated well on the silver screen.
While he spoke about his friendship with his Fighter co-star Hrithik, Karan also revealed a sweet gesture made by Roshan when his daughter Devi was just five days old.
In a candid conversation with OTTplay, Karan Singh Grover revealed that the credit for his friendship with Hrithik Roshan goes to the actor because he initiated it. "It was him who said, 'Why don't we meet in the evening? We have a scene tomorrow'. He said 'Come over to my home. We will see what you have in mind and what I have in mind. Let's make it better'," revealed Karan.
The actor further mentioned, "Once we met and started talking, I realised and I am sure he realises as well, that we have similar things of interest which many people don't have. There are so many things that I am interested and passionate about that I can't have a conversation with people about it, not because of anything, but because people just don't find it interesting. They have a lot of other interests that I don't have. Somehow, we had similar interests. I was impressed and he was also impressed and I was like, 'waah, that's nice'."
Revealing the sweet gesture made by Hrithik, Karan revealed, "When Devi (Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu's daughter) was just 5 days old, he sweetly shared so many instances and sent me a video. It was an episode of a documentary where writers, scientists, and a lot of people got together and spoke about bringing up your child, how people do it, how people should be doing it, and why we are limited in our thinking. Fortunately, my thinking about everything is the same as what he sent me and it was very sweet of him."
While sharing this fond memory, Karan also told us, "When you share such emotional things about your personal life, that means you are opening your heart out to someone. Once you understand somebody's heart, then you are connected with them. And then there's no difference between Patty and Taj, Karan and Hrithik. Then, we are there as just two friends."
On this note, Karan also spoke about his and Hrithik's characters Patty and Taj from Fighter. The actor revealed that there is a lot of backstory to both these characters. "It is a trilogy for me - like Fighter 1, Fighter 2 and Fighter 3. Only then we will be able to say what exactly it is. We have tried to show it in one film," he said while signing off.
Meanwhile, Fighter hit the silver screen on January 25, 2024.
