Dennis Joseph 

Scriptwriter Dennis Joseph, who passed away on May 10 following a cardiac arrest, was one of the most important people in the careers of Malayalam actors Mohanlal and Mammootty.

He scripted the start of superstardom for Mohanlal and his script led one of the greatest comebacks in Mollywood that put megastar Mammootty back on track. With over 30 superhit scripts that were directed by greats such as Joshiy, Thambi Kannanthanam, Shaji Kailas, Priyadarshan and I V Sasi, Dennis was once the most-sought after scriptwriter in the industry.

He has also directed movies such as Manu Uncle, Adharvam and Appu.

New Delhi is a conspiracy thriller directed by Joshiy. The movie stars Mammootty (as G Krishnamurthy aka GK), along with Suresh Gopi and Thiagarajan. Journalist GK, who is falsely convicted, meets Vishnu (Thiagarajan) during his time in jail. When the former is released after five years, he creates a master plan to take revenge on everyone who sent him to jail.

Rajavinte Makan - 1986

The comedy thriller, directed by Joshiy, stars Mohanlal as Tony Kurishingal along with Mammootty, Jagadish, Maniyanpilla Raju, Innocent, MG Soman and Suchitra. Majority of the film is set inside the No. 20 Madras Mail from Thiruvananthapuram to Chennai. While in the train, Tony is attracted to a girl, who is later murdered. He becomes the prime suspect and so he escapes to find the truth.

Akashadoothu

Directed by Sibi Malayil, the movie has Madhavi and Murali in the lead roles as Johnny and Annie. The film won the National Film Award for Best Film on family welfare. The tragedy starts when Johnny is killed in a brawl and later Annie is diagnosed with a terminal illness forcing her to put their four children up for adoption.

The comedy drama is directed by Dennis Joseph. The movie stars Mammootty as Manu, along with Suresh Gopi, MG Soman and Lissie in pivotal roles. The plot follows a group of children who notice the robbery of a museum artifact and along with the help of Manu, they try to follow the culprits and bring them to justice.

Nair Saab is a Malayalam Action Thriller Movie directed by Joshiy and written by Dennis Joseph. The movie has Mammootty in the lead role as Major Ravindran Nair along with Suresh Gopi, Mukesh, Sumalatha and Maniyanpilla Raju. The movie starts with humour rising from the arrival and training of new cadets at the army training center in Kashmir. But soon turns more serious as insiders help the underworld import drugs from an enemy country and kill Cadet Antony (Mukesh) who tries to confront them. Nair Saab is forced to flee but has to fight both enemies from outside and inside his own camp.

Phantom is an action film directed by Biju Varkey. The movie stars Mammootty as phantom Pailey, who is a stuntman. After being injured, Pailey decides to stay with his brother, Josetkutty (Nishanth Sagar) in a village in Kerala. Here Pailey gets involved in the fight between locals and a quarry owner.
