Dulquer Salman instantly created an impression with his debut film Second Show. Even with his slightly English accented Malayalam pronunciation, he became a trendsetter in Mollywood and Kollywood. Theevram
This revenge drama was the debut directorial of Roopesh Peethambaran. Dulquer plays Harsha Vardhan, a man seeking revenge for his murdered wife. He kidnaps the man responsible for her death and kills him brutally. The movie depicts the system’s failure in successfully apprehending a criminal and giving him the punishment which he deserves. The movie got negative reviews because of the blue colour palette used in specific scenes. The movie was aimed at an adult audience. Over the years, Roopesh and Dulquer were lauded by netizens for doing a movie well ahead of its time.

Salalah Mobiles
A rom-com by debutant Sharath Haridas, the movie starred Dulquer and Nazriya in lead roles. Afzal (Duquer) is the owner of a mobile shop named Salalah Mobiles. He falls for Shahana, who frequents the shop. Afzal gets his hands on a software application that could tap into anyone’s phone call and uses it to eavesdrop on others. Afzal also intends to listen to Shahana. In the process, Afzal comes to realise that everyone has a secret identity that only their phone knows.

Vaayai Moodi Pesavum
This parody-satire-rom-com is directed by Balaji Mohan. Aravind (Dulquer Salman), is a sales representative who dreams of being an RJ. He is charmingly talkative, as opposed to Anjana (Nazriya), a junior doctor who believes that talking is the root cause of all problems and keeps everything to herself. Then an epidemic befalls Panimalai, where both reside. The virus will affect the vocal cords of the person and will render him mute. The only way to prevent spread is to stop speaking. A speaking ban is issued in the village. How will Aravind, a person who loves to talk, manage this situation?

Njaan
This movie directed by Ranjith starred Dulquer in a double role as Ravi Chandrasekharan, a young blogger and KTN Kottur, a freedom fighter. Ravi is investigating the life of Kottur and wishes to write a drama centred on him. To know the writer Kottur, Ravi must first understand his village, traditions and customs. The movie is about Ravi’s search for Kottur’s story juxtaposed with flashbacks of Kottur. The movie won the 2014 State Film Awards for Best Screenplay (adapted), though Dulquer was chided by critics for taking on a role that was too mature for him.

100 Days Of Love
Balan K. Nair (Dulquer Salman) falls for Sheela (Nithya Menen), a photographer and his junior in school. As he gets close to her, he realises that she is engaged and doesn’t believe in love marriage. Balan still helps her and enjoys her company. Sheela is clueless about Balan’s feelings and treats him as a friend. How will fate play out in those hundred days? Watch the movie to know.

The movie directed by Bejoy Nambiar is a four-part anthology, where all the shorts star Dulquer in the lead role. The movie was critically acclaimed for its philosophical interpretation of Lord Shiva though it tanked at the box office. Dulquer was as Shekhar, a stammering youth and single father coping with the death of his wife, Trilok, a veterinary doctor hell-bent on seeking revenge for his wife, Siva, a ruthless gangster seeking revenge for his father’s murder and Rudra, a lovelorn soldier.
