Mardaani

Mardaani, is a 2014 action crime drama film directed by Pradeep Sarkar.The movie revolves around a woman police officer who goes beyond her duties to find a man running a crime cartel involving child trafficking and drugs. Shivani, is a Crime Branch Inspector of the Mumbai Police and gets involved in a case of Karan Rastogi. She takes the case personally when her daughter-like Pyari gets in the clutches of Karan. As the game of hiding and seek takes place, Karan cuts off Pyari’s finger to send a warning to Shivani. Shivani investigates the case and sets a trap in Delhi, which leads to Wakeel’s suicide. Towards the end of the movie, Karan’s mother being in the same criminal gang sedates Shivani. Shivani is united with Pyari and other underage girls. She learns that the girls are forced to work as a prostitute. Shivani single-handedly rescues the girls and takes Karan to a small room. She gets a hint that the judicial system might protect Karan. But she hands over Karan to the girls conveying him about the power of women. Towards the end of the movie, while everyone in the gang gets arrested and prosecuted, Karan meets his death by the enraged girls along with Pyari.
