While helping her parents move before the holidays, NICKY BEATON discovers a card given to her in high school that she never knew existed. In it, a secret admirer confides his true emotions. This means the world to Nicky who has always feltlike she was an outcast during her teenage years. With the support of her lifelong best friend SIMONE COLE, Nicky embarks on a quest to find and thank the anonymous author. Meanwhile, Simone is a working, single mother who feels like she's losing touch with her teenage son, especially as she plans to marry again and start a new chapter in life. The more Simone tries to get close and celebrate old holiday traditions, the more her son pushes away, which is creating biggerproblems with her fiance.
