The Karate Kid

Dre Parker, a Detroit youth moves to Beijing with his mother and learns kung fu from Mr. Han, a maintenance man to defend himself against bullies, ultimately triumphing over his tormentors in a martial arts tournament. Serving as a loose remake of the 1984 film of the same name and the fifth instalment in the Karate Kid franchise, The Karate Kid is an American martial arts drama film directed by Harald Zwart. The film features performances from Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan, Taraji P. Henson, Wenwen Han, Zhenwei Wang, and Yu Rongguang among others. Set in the same fictional universe as the previous films, the film retroactively serves as a standalone sequel to 1994's The Next Karate Kid.
