The Rajinikanth film has been enjoying a successful run in cinemas across India, including Kerala. The movie, which stars both Mohanlal and Rajinikanth, has become a trending topic in Mollywood as well. Many celebrities from Kerala have been sharing their experiences of watching Jailer on social media platforms. Among all the reviews, Abhinav Sunder Nayak's Instagram story stands out as particularly noteworthy.
In his Instagram story, Abhinav posted that he enjoyed the movie but that the experience was ruined because of a child crying in the theatre. The director expressed his disappointment at parents who took their toddler to the theatre, as the crying child disturbed others' viewing experiences.
Abhinav also said that he will not take his child to the theatre until the child is at least four years old and emphasised the need for responsible behaviour in social spaces like theatres.
Abhinav gained fame through his debut film, Mukandan Unni Associates, which starred Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead role. The film was a dark comedy centered around a cunning lawyer who was ready to resort to any immoral or unethical means to achieve success. The movie's conclusion revealed that despite his wrongdoing, the lawyer had achieved success. Earlier, Malayalam actor Edavela Babu criticised the film for its negative message and the heroine's dialogue in the climax. Although the film was praised for its execution, there were differences of opinion regarding the message conveyed by the film.
Meanwhile, Jailer, directed by Nelson, is dominating the box office, having reportedly grossed over Rs 5 crore in Kerala alone on its first day.
Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Jailer is Rajinikanth's 169th film. Helmed by Nelson, it revolves around a retired jailer who is forced to go behind a local goon after his son goes missing.
Jailer is currently in theatres.
