It seems troubles are far from over for Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie Leo. The movie has been running several troubles from the moment it went on the floors. However, its challenges seem to be doubling up as the release date draws closer.
Less than 48 hours before the much-awaited release, a Hyderabad court on Tuesday issued a temporary injunction against the movie's Telugu version till October 20. The movie is getting ready to hit the screens on October 19 worldwide in multiple languages. Should the injunction against the movie's release stay, the movie's opening day collection will take a significant beating.
According to industry sources, someone has petitioned the court claiming the ownership of the title Leo.
The distributor committed to Leo's Telugu release
Producer Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments, who is distributing Leo in the Telugu states, remains unfazed. He expressed confidence about giving a smooth release to the movie across Telugu states as planned on October 19.
"A small miscommunication happened with the title of Leo in Telugu. Our team is in talks with the other party, everything will be sorted out without any problem. Leo will release on October 19 in the Telugu states," Naga Vamsi said during a press conference.
Following the assurance, some cinemas across the Telugu states resumed taking bookings for both Tamil and Telugu versions of Leo.
Leo set for big debut at Telugu box office
It's noteworthy that Leo has generated unprecedented excitement among the movie buffs in Telugu states. Judging by the initial trends, Leo is likely to become the biggest hit in Vijay's career in Telugu.
As per the trade sources, the booking for Leo in the Telugu states is excellent and the advance ticket sales are far better than Nandamuri Balakrishna's Bhagavanth Kesari and Ravi Teja's Tiger Nageswara Rao.
"There are no theatre problems for this festival season. Bhagavanth Kesari Tiger Nageswara Rao and Leo got good screen sharing," observed Naga Vamsi in the press meet.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed Leo, which is said to be part of his expanding cinematic university, dubbed as LCU. Besides Vijay, the movie also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon and others.
