Actress Aishwarya Rajesh has addressed the controversy surrounding her statement in connection with Rashmika Mandanna's role in the Telugu blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. While claiming that her comments were taken out of context, she expressed her admiration for Rashmika's exceptional work in the film.

In a heartfelt message to her fans and followers, Rajesh expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love and support she has received throughout her journey in the film industry. She acknowledged her fortunate position of having such dedicated fans who appreciate her work.

And she clarified that she meant no disrespect with her recent comments slamming the "rumour peddlers" for taking her comments out of context.

"I was asked in a recent interview on the kind of roles I want to do in Telugu cinema. I replied that I like the Telugu film industry a lot and that I would certainly do Telugu films if I got roles that were to my liking. To cite an example, I said I liked the character of Srivalli in Pushpa a lot as I felt such characters would suit me. However, unfortunately, my statement seems to have been misconstrued and is being reported in such a fashion so as to give the impression that I was disparaging the fantastic work of actress Rashmika Mandanna in the film," she said.

She also clarified that she holds immense respect and admiration for Rashmika's work, along with all her fellow actors and actresses.

Earlier, there were some reports that Aishwarya felt she would have done a better job as Srivalli in Pushpa than Rashmika. Rashmika played Srivalli well but I feel and believe I would suit the character better," Aishwarya was quoted as saying earlier.

Rashmika's performance as a village belle Srivalli in Pushpa was a big hit. The movie made her a national sensation and she will return as Srivalli in Pushpa 2, which is due in cinemas later this year.
