After multiple delays, the trailer of Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan was finally released today. Fans have been anticipating for the film for a very long time and now the film is all set to release in cinemas in April. The biological drama film is based on the life of great coach Syed Abdul Rahim. At today's trailer launch event, Ajay Devgn spoke about the box office clash of the film with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Maidaan, directed by Amir Sharma also stars Priyamani, and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles. While the film is set to release in cinemas this April on the occasion of Eid, it will also lock horns with another highly-anticipated biggie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Speaking about the clash, Ajay Devgn said, "First of all I won’t call it a clash. If you are calling it a clash, then in your language I wouldn’t want two films to release at the same time. However, there are certain obligations due to which the films are to be released."

"Both the films are of different genres. We all are like a family, we are friends. So, we are not looking at it in terms of a clash. We’re looking at it in the terms that there is a good big weekend, so both the films would perform well (at the box office)," the actor further added.

The trailer of Maidaan opens with Ajay Devgn's potent dialogue. It takes us to the difficulties the sportsman goes through to create a national football team where nobody cares about it. The highlight of the trailer is Ajay's appearance as Syed Abdul Rahim, the legendary sportsman on whom the film is made. Priyamani plays Ajay's wife in the film while Gajrao Rao will be seen as Rudranil Ghosh.

Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, both have very different genres. While Ajay Devgn's film is a sports biological drama and is based on the life of a footballer, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer is an out-and-out action film. It will be still interesting to see which film performs well at the box office because both the films are led by big heroes.
