Finally, the much-awaited third collaboration between Ajith, director Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor is set to begin soon. Ajith has reached Hyderabad and some of his pics clicked at the airport have been going viral on social media. Tentatively titled AK 61, the film will release in theatres on Deepavali this year.

If everything goes as per plans, it is after seven years that the star is going to have two releases in the same year. The last time he had two releases was in 2015; Gautham Menon's Yennai Arindhaal released first followed by Siva's Vedalam many months later.

AK 61 is the actor, director, producer trio's third movie after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai (both streaming on Zee5). Ghibran has been roped in to compose music for the project. He had composed the background score for Valimai as well while Yuvan Shankar Raja had composed its songs.

Though an announcement on AK 61's cast and crew is yet to be made, it is heard that Aditi Rao Hydari and Kavin have come on board to play crucial characters. Billed as a heist film, the names of Mohanlal and Nagarjuna were also doing the rounds with regard to essaying a cop's role in it. Fans of Ajith hope that the official title and news pertaining to cast and crew will be updated soon by the makers.  

Meanwhile, the announcement on AK 62 which was made recently left fans elated. Vignesh Shivan will be directing Ajith for the first time and Anirudh will be composing music for the untitled movie which will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

The project marks the third collaboration between Ajith and Anirudh after Siva's Vedalam and Vivegam. Despite Nayanthara rumoured to be playing the heroine in the film, the makers are tight-lipped about it.
