With only less than a couple of days left for Valimai's theatrical release, there is palpable excitement among fans of Ajith. This is the star's release after more than two-and-half-years, and needless to say, fans have been really impatient till the makers announced its official release date as January 13, a while ago.

However, the outbreak of third wave of COVID made them change the plans and later came up with February 24 as the project's release. Boney Kapoor has produced the movie under Bay View Projects, in association with Zee Studios. H Vinoth has directed the action thriller which is hitting the screens in record number of theatres in Tamil Nadu.

We had earlier reported that Ajith was quite elated after watching the movie. The star felt proud in having been part of the movie and he had conveyed the same to Vinoth as well. He promised the director that he would screen Valimai for his parents.

Now, we hear that the excited star has visited Vinoth's house and spend some time with his family there. According to sources, Ajith also had taken some gifts along with him to surprise the filmmaker's son.

Valimai marks the second collaboration of Ajith and Vinoth after Nerkonda Paarvai (streaming on Zee5). The digital rights of Valimai, too, have been bagged by Zee5 earlier. Interestingly, both the projects have been produced by Boney Kapoor. The actor-director-producer trio is expected to kick start their third movie in March in Hyderabad.

Valimai stars Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya, Achyuth Kumar, Sumithra and Yogi Babu among others essaying crucial roles in it. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for songs in the movie, while Ghibran has composed its background score. Nirav Shah has cranked the camera for Valimai which has Ajith playing a cop who takes on a few illegal bikers.
