Amazon Prime Video's Oh My Dog garners rave reviews from celebs from tinsel town and sports

Debutant filmmaker Sarov Shanmugam's family entertainer Oh My Dog, which was dropped on Amazon Prime Video on April 21, opened to decent reports from the audience and critics alike. The family drama delineates the relationship between a pup Simba and Arjun, a young kid. 

One of the highlights of the movie is actors of three generations of a family sharing screen space. Veteran actor Vijaykumar, Arun Vijay and Arnav, the grandfather-father-son trio join hands for the first time in the film, which is a unique feat in the filmdom.

Apart from the audience, the film bankrolled by Suriya-Jyotika's 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd, has managed to garner the attention from a few celebs as well. Interestingly, a couple of celebs from the sports field, too, have expressed interest in the movie. What surprised many was the tweet from South African cricket legend Jonty Rhodes who shares a good rapport with India and the people here. 

He tweeted, “As a pet lover, am looking forward to watching this movie.” An excited Suriya replied to the cricketer's post with the tweet, “Thanks a lot!! Big fan Jonty Rhodes! I’m sure your daughter India Rhodes will like it too!!” (sic)."

Indian cricketer Prashant Solanki was another celeb from the sports field who was impressed with the film's promo videos and posters. He tweeted, "These paws have the healing powers Can't wait to watch 'Oh My Dog'!" (sic)." 

Leading Kollywood producer SR Prabhu, who is on a roll after bagging the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of KGF 2, asked movie buffs to watch Oh My Dog as he felt the movie will be a proper treat to kids and family this summer. He posted, "#OhMyDog will be a perfect summer treat for kids and family!! Don’t Doss it!!" (sic)." 

The movie has music composed by Nivas Prasanna and cinematography by Gopinath. Oh My Dog is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil and Telugu.
