Danny Casolaro, the freelance writer came to limelight in 1991, when he was found dead in a bathtub in room 517 of the Sheraton Hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Investigation showed his wrists slashed 10 to 12 times. The medical examiner declared his death a suicide. His death became controversial because his articles hinted some political conspiracy, which he had named ‘The Octopus’.

Report says Danny Casolaro was digging into the possible secret group ‘The Octopus’. This group might have been involved in stealing spy stuff, killing people, and being part of big mysteries from the ‘90s. Then, Casolaro died in a mysterious way. American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murder explores the whole story, and will be released on February 28, 2024, only on Netflix.

This mystery allegedly is suspected to be linked with stolen government spyware, a web of unsolved murders, and the murkiest political machinations of the 20th century. What does the trailer depict?

The trailer starts with a news channel declaring Danny’s death as suicide. And in the background, we get to hear someone saying that he did not believe it as suicide, rather it's a murder for him. The video starts showing how Danny started writing a book on some powerful people, he had realised that something much bigger is going on. There are eight men, who were not government officials, but were deeply linked with governments from any country of the world.

These eight men are named as ‘The Octopus’. Then the first man discloses that it all started with a software. The programs of that software allowed the CIA to spy on the intelligence agencies that brought it. Then we get to hear Casolaro’s voice recording saying that two of those eight men transferred almost $40 million. Just when he was about disclose where the money was used, the recording stops.

The trailer also revealed hat whoever have worked on this case, were somehow got killed. Then again someone in the background says then it was already known who was actually behind this conspiracy, but no one could bring justice. There were too many people got killed for this heinous case. In the end, the video also reveals another voice recording, where we get to hear someone threatening, “If you think for a minute that you're gonna go expose somebody, you're gonna get yourself killed."
