March 17, 2024, was a special day for Smriti Mandhana and her fans! Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team made history by claiming their first championship title in the Women's Premier League (WPL). They clinched victory in the final held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, defeating Delhi Capitals by a comfortable margin of eight wickets. While congratulatory wishes continue to pour on the Indian batswoman, an interesting news development has come online. Reportedly, Smriti has found love.
This afternoon, music composer Palaash Muchhal shared a picture with Indian batswoman Smriti Mandhana. The picture showed him giving a side hug to Smriti while she was holding the winner’s trophy. Reacting to the picture in the post, Smriti dropped “red hearts” in the comments section.
Observing the picture, one fan of Smriti said, “Noooo! Smriti is mine. Please don’t date her.”
Another Instagrammer said, “Are the two dating? Nooo. This post is not for single people.”
“Congrats Smriti! Keep shining. Glad to see you two together,” said one more Instagram user.
It is interesting to note that Palaash Muchhal – who has just more than a million followers on Instagram, received over 2 lakh likes on this post. If reports are to be believed, Palaash and Smriti have been dating each other since 2022.
To add charm, Palaash’s sister, singer Palak also dropped a bunch of red hearts on the viral post.
After winning the WPL Finals 2024, Smriti received a special call from legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli. Virat – who plays for RCB in the men’s category, congratulated the women’s team for the historic victory.
Later the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore spoke about her conversation with Virat Kohli after their WPL 2024 final victory over Delhi Capitals. Due to the loud noise at the stadium, she said publicly that she struggled to hear Kohli's words during their video call.
At the press conference, Mandhana explained that Kohli expressed his congratulations with a thumbs up and showed enthusiasm for the team's win against Delhi. She also mentioned that she remembered Kohli's encouraging words during their conversation.
Virat, for the unfamiliar, is the most-followed Indian and most-followed Asian on Instagram, with over 266 million followers.
