Article 370 - Yami Gautam expresses gratitude to the audience, says thank you for proving naysayers 'absolutely wrong'

Yami Gautam on challenges while filming Article 370  

Taking to Twitter, Yami Gautam aka Zooni Haksar of Article 370 wrote, “When we were making ‘Article 370’, so many people told us that this film won’t work with the audience, it’s too technical, too many political jargons etc...”. However, continuing in the same vein, Yami said that the cast and crew went ahead with their gut as they believed it was only the naysayers trying to underestimate their audience. Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the audience, Yami remarked, “Thank you all for proving them absolutely wrong. Thank you so much for giving so much love to our small little film with a big heart. We are humbled...”

Netizens’ support Article 370 release  

No sooner did Yami Gautam put out the tweet sharing her mixed emotions about her latest film that the Twitterati came out in her support wholeheartedly. For instance, one user wrote, “The naysayers will never have it. It’s a masterpiece and kudos to the team.” Another user named Naren said, “Very good movie.”, while another cine buff quipped, “We loved it yesterday.”  

A netizen who seemed impressed with the actors’ powerful acting pointed, “The emotions in your eyes, sincere power act of Priya Mani, Arun and Kiran Karmarkar as #AmitShah just shocked us to core...”  

Article 370 grosses ₹34.71 crore worldwide   

The Yami Gautam film has already grossed ₹34.71 crore in its opening weekend, as per a film poster shared by the actress along with her tweet. The poster terms the film as a blockbuster.

Cast of Article 370  

Yami Gautam plays the main role of Zooni Haksar in the film, while Priyamani essays the role of Rajeshwari Swaminathan. Other key roles are played by Kiran Karmarkar, Arun Govil (best known for playing Lord Ram in Ramayana), Ashwini Koul, Raj Arjun, Sumit Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, and Divya Seth. Inspired by Amit Shah, Kiran Karmarkar portrays the Home Minister; while Arun Govil portrays the Prime Minister, drawing inspiration from Narendra Modi. Raj Arjun portrays Khawar Ali, and Ashwini Koul plays Zakir Naikoo.
