It looks like Arun Vijay, who made his OTT debut earlier this year with Oh My Dog, will have several releases this year. The Sarov Shanmugam directorial which dropped directly on Amazon Prime Video marked the acting debut of his son Arnav as well.

His last theatrical release was Karthick Naren's Mafia: Chapter 1 (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2020. Two films of his, Vaa Deal and Borrder, which were supposed to release in 2021, got postponed at the last minute owing to reasons known only to the makers.

His next release is Hari's Yaanai which will hit screens on June 17; the movie marks the first collaboration of the actor-filmmaker duo. Billed as an action entertainer, the movie which has music by GV Prakash, features a bevy of actors like Radhika Sarath Kumar, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Gangai Amaren, Ammu Abhirami and Imman Annachi.

Naveen's Agni Siragugal is another movie the actor has in his kitty. The teaser of the film which also stars Vijay Antony in another lead role will be unveiled tomorrow. The big budget action flick is expected to release this year in theatres.

GNR Kumaravelan's Sinam has Arun essaying the role of a police constable for the first time. The family drama which has a few action sequences, too, has also been lying in the cans for sometime. Arivazhagan's Borrder which was slated for a release in November 2021 deals with terrorism; this was one of the most-expected films of the actor.

Movie buffs have been waiting for an update about the project's release date. According to sources, the film will make it to theatres later this year. Rathina Shiva's Vaa Deal is the most delayed project among the unreleased movies of Arun. Though it was said to be releasing along with biggies for Deepavali 2021, the makers backed off unexpectedly a few days before the release date.
