The release of Atharvaa's Thalli Pogathey, directed by Kannan, was postponed multiple times owing to reasons best known to the team. The film, a remake of Tollywood hit flick Ninnu Kori (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was initially supposed to hit the screens on October 14 as a Dussehra release.
Later, the film backed out and announced another date in November. However, the movie did not make it on that date either. Now, it is said that the film, starring Anupama Parameswaran as its female lead, is releasing on December 24. Kannan himself had took to his social media page to announce the same. The actor-director have earlier worked together in Boomerang.
Meanwhile, the release of Kuruthi Aattam, another project of Atharvaa, directed by Sri Ganesh, has been pushed further. The film, billed an action entertainer, was slated as a theatrical release on December 24. The project has been postponed to January though a date hasn't been announced yet.
Sri Ganesh himself confirmed the same and issued an apology to the fans of the actor and other film buffs for failing to bring the project on the announced date. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead in the movie which marks the director's second outing after the acclaimed 8 Thottakkal.
The actor was in the news recently for the launch of his new project, titled Trigger. Directed by Sam Anton, the movie is an action thriller which revolves around father-son relationship. Atharvaa's last theatrical release in Tamil, 100 (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was also directed by Sam.
His last release was Thunintha Pin from the anthology Navarasa, which had a direct release on Netflix a few months ago. Address is another project of the actor which is awaiting a release.
