Abishek Ambareesh, the son of late Rebel Star Ambareesh and actor-politico Sumalatha Ambareesh, made baby steps into the film industry way back in 2019 with Amar, directed by Nagashekar. The film was a colossal failure, following which Abishek withdrew himself from the limelight to focus on figuring out his next move. As luck would have it, director Suri saw Amar, and felt the need to collaborate with Abishek and show the world what he is truly capable of as an actor. Their film, Bad Manners is now set to come to theatres.

Release date

Bad Manners has been ready since early 2023, and it was speculated that the team was planning a June 2023 release. What happened instead is that Abishek got married to long-time girlfriend Aviva Bidapa around that time. Subsequently, November 24 was chosen as the D-Day for the film’s date with audiences. The film has competition at the box office, but it has a decent buzz going for it, on account of its director Suri, leading man Abishek and the fact that Challenging Star Darshan has been supporting the team.

Trailer

The trailer of Bad Manners had audiences confused as to what Suri was trying to say, as it barely gave them an idea what the film is about and seemed rather haphazardly put together. What it did show was that the film is quite action-packed, and put the spotlight on Abishek’s towering screen presence.

What’s Bad Manners all about

Throughout the promotions of the film, Suri and Abishek remained quite tight-lipped about the subject, with the filmmaker hinting that it revolved around country-made guns and an investigation. Abishek plays a cop in the film. According to a synopsis on a ticket aggregator platform, the film follows Rudra, who, after his father`s demise, gets a job in the police force. When Rudra loses his service gun at a crime scene, he`s given an ultimatum to find it or face suspension. He then travels to Govardhana Ghada, a place notorious for the illegal production of weapons, to retrieve his lost gun. As Rudra delves deeper into the investigation, he realizes that his `bad manners` has led him to a series of dire consequences.

Cast and crew

At the top of the crew is, of course, director Suri, whose name is the biggest potential crowd-puller for Bad Manners. There is a certain level of expectation from a Suri film that fans look forward to. The filmmaker’s got Charan Raj on board yet again to score music. As for the cast, Abishek is paired with Rachita Ram, a pairing that netizens had pointed out seemed out of place. Rachita, they reckoned looked older than the actor. Suri has said that this is an aspect that will be tackled in the film and that her casting was specific to this part of the narrative. Also on the cast are Tara, Sharath Lohithashwa, Poornachandra Mysore, Trivikram, Rochit Shetty, among others.
