Bada Naam Karenge: Kanwaljit Singh was hesitant to cry in climax - 'I felt it might be uncharacteristic for...'

Veteran actor Kanwaljit Singh recently featured in director Palash Vaswani's Bada Naam Karenge. The web series, backed by Sooraj Barjatya, premiered on February 7 on SonyLIV. The series opened to positive feedback upon its OTT release. Singh, who is known for his powerful performances, recently opened up about the emotional climax of the series. The senior actor revealed why he was hesitant to get teary-eyed in the show.

Kanwaljit Singh on Bada Naam Karenge's emotional climax

After Bada Naam Karenge's OTT release, Kanwaljit Singh opened up about how he approached the web show's emotional climax. The veteran actor recalled director Palash envisioned a climax where his character Anand Raathi had to break down in tears.

"Initially, I was hesitant, as I felt it might be uncharacteristic for a family patriarch to express such intense emotions. However, after sharing my perspective, we found common ground. Ultimately, I trusted the director’s vision—after all, he sees the bigger picture. I remember our in-depth discussions leading up to the scene," he revealed. 

The Bada Naam Karenge actor was surprised to find that not just him but the entire team was in tears when the emotional climax was shot. Singh revealed the scene turned out to be beautiful exactly how Palash envisioned. 

"I am grateful to Palash ji for directing the sequence with such finesse and to Rajshri for welcoming me into their family—something I have always wished for. Now that the series is out, I truly hope the audience connects with it as deeply as we did while making it," shared Kanwaljit.
