Greta Gerwig's Barbie has scored multiple Grammy nominations this year, but faces tough competition. However, Ryan Gosling's Kenergy seems to be doing well, rendering the actor a first-time nominee.

Barbie, as a film, has created sensation in Gen Z society. It has not only subverted social expectations but has also taken a feminist approach to rationalizing and resolving the problems proposed by patriarchy for both men and women. However, though Greta Gerwig’s film faced both appreciation and resistance from the masses, it has delighted its fans by bagging 11 Grammy nominations for the 2024 award ceremony.
Now, he may simply be a Ken, but that doesn’t mean he lacks veritable feelings. The song I’m Just Ken, has garnered more than 70 million streams on Spotify and 3 million views on YouTube. He had previously said in interviews that the main reason he chose to do Ken, was because of his daughters.

While bringing up his daughters, Ryan Gosling admitted to finding it difficult to being a ‘Barbie dad’ to them. He had candidly admitted to receiving a rather intriguing sign while being cast. Post receiving an offer for Ken, he had come face-to-face with his daughters’ Ken “face down in the mud next to a squished lemon.” Sending a picture to Gerwig immediately, Gosling had not hesitated to fulfill his destiny.

By Billie Eilish in Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Song Written for Visual Media, Best Music Video; for Barbie World by Nicki Minaj in Best Rap Song, Best Song Written for Visual Media; for I’m Just Ken by Ryan Gosling in Best Song Written for Visual Media; for Dance the Night by Dua Lipa and others, for Song of the Year, and Best Song Written for Visual Media, among others.
