Before the KKR and SRH IPL final, Srijit Mukherji lays out his dream team

Besides giving updates about his work, Srijit Mukherji frequently shares humorous and sarcastic posts on social media. He posted one like this on Saturday. On one hand, there is the election heat of the sixth phase and on the other, the IPL final creates a buzz. Before that, Srijit announced the 11 players he would choose had he made a team. But there was not a single cricketer on the list!

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will face each other in the IPL final. Srijit Mukherji announced his choice of the top eleven on social media before the game happened. But he wrote the names of biryani shops instead of the names of the players. Both Hyderabad and Kolkata are famous for their biryani. Srijit perhaps reminded this through his post.

Srijit wrote in his post, “My playing XI for the IPL final. Arsalan, India, Shiraz, Aminia, Zeeshan, Royal, Zam Zam, Oudh, Dada Boudi, Kabuliwallah, Biriyanishq. Impact players - Hanglatherium, D Bapi, Manzilat, Karims, Nizam. Will just need to see off the spells of Paradise, Bawarchi, and Biriyaniwallah.”

The competition between Kolkata biryani and Hyderabadi biryani is legendary. The foodies across India are divided between these two camps. While Kolkata biryani lovers swear by the big chunk of potato in biryani, Hyderabadi biryani fans laugh it out. Srijit, a known foodie and cricket fan, has clearly put his faith in Kolkata biryani before the IPL final.

Srijit's fans were amused by this post. A person wrote that Srijit should coach the team. Another person wrote that the fabulous performance of Dada Boudi will bring a trophy. A third person preferred Hyderabad's biryani to Kolkata's biryani.

Srijit has done a part of the shooting of his film Tekka, which will be released this Puja. It stars Dev, Rukmini Moitra, and Swastika Mukherjee. A few days back, he finished shooting Bhuswarga Bhoyonkor. Tota Roychoudhury will play Feluda there. Now Srijit is busy shooting Sotyi Bole Shotyi Kichu Nei.
