After sparking excitement among Money Heist lovers, Netflix has finally announced the premiere date of its spin-off series, Berlin. 2023 is going to end with a bang with the Pedro Alonso-led Spanish series. Yes, the wait is slightly longer as Berlin is set for release on December 29, 2023. The date was announced along with a short teaser that gives a glimpse into the exciting crime that's going to unfold in the new series.

Get ready for Berlin!

Money Heist follows the heist of the Royal Mint of Spain, masterminded by Professor (Álvaro Morte) and carried out by Berlin, who are all strangers with city names as nicknames. While the later seasons of Money Heist have flashbacks to an earlier time in Berlin's life, the focus of Berlin is on that time.

About the series:

Love and a million dollars, according to Berlin, are the only two things that can make a terrible day good. This is what helps him maintain laser-like concentration on his objectives. So in the new series, he's planning his biggest theft ever, which involves the disappearance of $44 million in jewellery. Keila, a cybersecurity genius; Damián, an academic and Berlin's close buddy; Cameron, a free spirit who lives on the edge; Roi, a locksmith and Berlin's loyal sidekick; and Bruce, who is well-versed in devices and weapons, are just some of the smart criminals he'll need to recruit.

New cast:

Along with Pedro Alonso, Berlin also stars Michelle Jenner (Isabel) as Keila, Tristán Ulloa (Fariña) as Damián, Begoña Vargas (Welcome to Eden) as Cameron, Julio Peña (Through My Window) as Roi, and Joel Sánchez as Bruce.

Earlier, while talking about Berlin, Money Heist creator Álex Pina said in a statement that it's a journey back in time to the character's "golden age," when he robbed his way across Europe, crazy in love. White-collar criminality, tension, travel, romance, and comedy all feature prominently in this series. The helmer also added that the comedy is the biggest shock of all in the series, and it's going to make a lot of people laugh.
