The entire series is based on mythological stories, which have been told from generation to generation. The entire series gets started after Garud comes to meet his mother, Vinataa. And the bond that they both share is totally undeniable as it's full of love.

On the hindsight, it gets revealed that Garud actually hates all of his Naag Brothers (snakes). Well, besides them, Garud also hates Queen Kadru. For the unversed, Queen Kadru is the same queen who had ill treated (and still continues to do so) his mother Vinataa.
The inquisitive that Garud is, always is on a searching exercise in order to know how on earth did his mother Vinataa land up becoming a slave to Queen Kadru. One fine day, when got a chance, Garud lands up showing his powers before the evil Queen Kadru and also the snakes. Seeing Garud in an angry mode, his mother Vinataa tries to calm him down. What happens after that is what forms the rest of the story.
