The official synopsis of director Arvind Sastry’s latest, Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream tells us that it is about what happens when a mysterious woman walks into the life of a depressed, heartbroken, lovelorn and ailing cab driver. She is both a cure for his miseries and an inception to many adventures. Siri Ravikumar is this mysterious woman, who walks into the life of a cabbie played by Aravinnd Iyer.
The film does not have an official release date yet, but the team has been dropping elements at regular intervals, starting with the trailer, songs by composer Nakul Abhyankar and making videos.
The latest song to drop is a number called Kuthoohala, written by Jayanth Kaikini, which Nakul himself has sung. The lyrical video has fleeting glimpses from the actual visuals, which has Aravinnd’s character trying to find out who and what Siri is. While the team has revealed that Siri plays a high-end escort, who remains nameless in the film, at this point in the tale, Aravinnd remains clueless about her job profile.
During the trailer launch, Arvind had explained that although Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream is about a cab driver in Bengaluru, it is not as much about his profession, and instead focuses on him as a human being, and what he goes through in his day-to-day life. It’s a personal drama and the film is about the people he encounters and how they affect his life, with the primary narrative revolving around Aravinnd, Siri and Gopalkrishna Deshpande, who plays a pimp called Manto.
To get into the character of playing a cabbie, leading man Aravinnd had to have a physical transformation that required him to lose his fit and fab physique and look flabby and portly. Arvind had also said that he is looking at releasing the film in March, but is yet to announce the same. The film has been submitted for censor certification.
