Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty starrer Border 2 was announced in 2024 and there's a lot of excitement around it. Every time the makers share updates on social media, fans go gaga over them. On February 28, the makers took to social media and informed about Sunny Deol joining the shoot. They shared a picture featuring him, Varun and the team of Border 2 from sets in Jhansi.

Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 hit patriotic war drama, which was directed by JP Dutta. Border is still a fan favorite and hence the excitement around the second installment is sky-high. The makers posted a picture featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, director Anurag Singh, producers Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta and co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi. Sunny and Varun are shooting in the secluded armed forces cantonment areas of Jhansi, where the film’s high-octane action and emotionally charged scenes are being brought to life.
Varun too shared a picture with Sunny Paaji and expressed his excitement over him joining the shoot. He wrote, "Sunny days Hameraa saab ji #border2 #indianarmy jan 2026." Have a look:
Soon after VD shared the post, fans of both the actors flooded the comments section. One fan commented, "Can't wait for border 2." Another fan wrote, "Sunny_paji+Varun_dhwn=Border2 Tabhi hogi pakka." One comment also read, "Two legends in one frame."

In a recent interview, Diljit spilled the beans on his character in the film. He revealed that he will essay the role of Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, an officer in the Indian Air Force, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. Details about other actors and their characters have been kept under wraps. Border 2 is all set to hit the big screens on 23rd January 2026.
