Brigitte Nielsen sometimes forgets marriage with Sylvester Stallone ever happened

Brigitte Nielsen does not like remaining entangled in the past. She believes in moving on, instead of the current trend of remaining hung up on exes and whatnot. In a recent interview with People magazine, the actress confessed that none of her exes cross her mind, not even Sylvester Stallone.

Instead, she barely keeps up with his life and sometimes feels like the marriage never even took place, “[My marriage] to Sylvester Stallone was so long ago, I never think about him. Sometimes it feels like it never even happened.”

However, before one misconstrues the statement as arrogance or distaste, the actress clarifies that the distance or lack of connection is a result of the long period of time that has lapsed since their ill-fated marriage and messy divorce, as well as their busy work schedules.

“I have no idea what that guy is up to,” she continued. “You move on, you know? You’re so busy doing other things that it can be like, ‘Wait, what was his name again?’” laughed the actress. Brigitte Nielsen and Sylvester Stallone hit it off while working together on Cobra and got engaged during Rocky IV.

However, though the lovebirds had tied the knot in 1985, their marriage messily fell apart in 1987. Nielsen and Stallone briefly reunited in 2018 to shoot Creed, in which they reprised their roles, but consistently maintained a professional distance.

The actress was in her twenties back then and was allegedly blacklisted by the industry. She moved back to Europe soon after and has been working there ever since. Brigitte Nielsen got married again, in 2006, to Mattia Dessi, and had a baby girl in 2018. They remain happily married and very much in love.
