Even as Nelson Dilipkumar's Vijay-starrer Beast is eagerly awaited by the latter's fans, they are also kicked about every news doing the rounds on social media about Thalapathy 66, the tentative title of the star's upcoming project. The shooting of the Vamshi Paidipally directorial is expected to begin after Beast hits the screens. The movie is expected to have a theatrical release on April 14.
Earlier, the news of Thaman, who is currently in super form in Tollywood composing music for Thalapathy 66, had sent Vijay fans into a tizzy. The latest news is that Telugu actor Nani will also be a part of the bilingual project.
It is heard that Dil Raju, who is producing the movie, is currently in talks with Nani and that the latter might say yes to the offer. The actor had expressed his interest in working in Tamil movies when he was in Chennai recently for the promotion of Shyam Singha Roy (streaming on Netflix).
Nani's first direct-to-OTT release, V (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was bankrolled by Dil Raju's banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Fans of both Vijay and Nani are waiting to know if both the actors will be able to share screen presence for the untitled movie.
The last time Nani teamed up with another star was for Tollywood movie Devadas (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) which received lukewarm response at the box office. The female lead of Thalapathy 66 is yet to be confirmed; it is expected that the makers will be announcing an update on the same soon.
The story of the movie is said to revolve around family relationships. Dil Raju had recently revealed in an interview that the movie will be on the lines of Vijay's Thulladha Manamum Thullum, one of the biggest hits in the star's career.
