Kamal Haasan's announcement on quitting Bigg Boss Ultimate as its host due to film-related commitments was a huge shock for the housemates and regular viewers. The actor-director has Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram and Shankar's Indian 2 to complete. The former is in its last leg of shooting and is expected to be a theatrical release in May.
Post his exit from the show, which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, fans have been speculating about the next host for the show. The names of Sarath Kumar, Silambarasan and Ramya Krishnan among others are doing the rounds on social media.
Sarath made a cameo appearance in the fifth season of Bigg Boss and offered a sum of ₹3 lakh to the contestant who are ready to quit the show. Netizens opine that the senior actor would be the right choice to take up the post of the show's host as he commands respect among the audience.
Interestingly, Ramya Krishnan was the host for Bigg Boss 5, when Kamal was recuperating after testing positive for COVID more than a couple of months ago. A few feel that the senior actress would also be able to entertain viewers with her hosting skill.
However, going by unconfirmed reports, it is heard that Silambarasan is likely to grab the opportunity. It will be a feast for fans of the star if the buzz turns out to be true. He is currently on a high after the stupendous success of Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu (streaming on SonyLIV).
The actor has Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, Gokul's Corona Kumar and Jameel's Maha in his kitty. Out of 14 contestants, four of them were evicted recently, and more evictions are expected to happen in the coming week.
