The Indian big screen is entering one of its most illustrious golden phases, with the industry, once written off, now trusted with movies that are not just masala tentpoles but even niche ones. Bollywood has seen multiple movies that were not formulaic box office winners but surprise players that emerged from good content and managed to pull audiences towards them. Crew, starring three women at the center—Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon—is one such film. Just when the conversation around whether an all-female cast can attract audiences is at its prime, these three have managed to deliver an over Rs 20 crore worldwide opening for a niche film.

Crew First Weekend Box Office

Crew has now wrapped up its first weekend after its release on the big screen, and while we will have to wait for the global numbers to drop, in India, the movie has yet again had a very successful day at the box office, strengthening its journey to the first Rs 50 crore milestone for the coming week.

The movie, which stars Kareena, Tabu, and Kriti in grey characters, and the actors play them with full conviction, has now managed to bring in Rs 10.25 crore at the Indian box office on Sunday, which is the highest of the three days for the film. This certainly means that word of mouth is working in favor of Crew, which opened to a collection of Rs 9.25 crore on the day of its release. The second day brought in a sum of Rs 9.75 crore.

Adding the Rs 10.25 crore earned on day three, which was Sunday, the total first weekend collection of Crew now stands at Rs 29.25 crore in the domestic market. This means the film is now almost Rs 30 crore strong in India alone, and if the positive word of mouth continues to draw audiences to the theaters, the movie will earn Rs 50 crore domestically in no time.

Crew Worldwide Box Office So Far

The worldwide haul of Crew stood at Rs 41.13 crore yesterday, with a confirmed addition of Rs 10.25 crore. This means Crew is already Rs 50 crore strong in the global market. The movie, which also stars Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh in pivotal parts, has become a surprising success story and has exceeded expectations with flying colors.
