After all the hype about the Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon starrer, ultimately the film got released last week (March 29, 2024). Thanks to the presence of the three stunning ladies and its storyline, the audiences have definitely taken a liking to the film. Besides the cinegoers, the film got ample boost and encouragement from the word of mouth as well. After having taken off safely, the film has now reached its first week on a good note.
As per a latest news report in Pinkvilla, the Rajesh A Krishnan directed film has now minted around Rs. 44 crores nett (India collections). It’s a given that the film can now enjoy its ‘single status’ at the box office till around 6 days from now.
The reason? Well, this week will see two of the gigantic films clashing at the box office in the form of Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan, both these most awaited films will be releasing during the festive season of Eid. What remains to be seen is whether Crew will be able to sustain its successful box office run after the release of the two biggies Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan.
The report added that, Crew will have to pocket around Rs. 63 crores, before eventually settling for a lifetime collection of around Rs 70-75 crore. If it happens, then, Crew will find itself as the fifth highest Hindi grosser of the year 2024. For the unversed, the first four films in this bracket include Fighter, Shaitaan, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Article 370.

What is remarkable about Crew is that, despite the release of a Hollywood biggie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the film has managed to sail itself through the waves of success without facing any ‘turbulence’ at the box office. After the runaway success of Crew, there were many rumours about the film’s sequel in the making.
Putting all of these ‘rumoured buzz’ to a halt was the film’s director Rajesh A Krishnan, who, in an exclusive interview with OTTplay had revealed that he would be open to an idea (of the sequel) that has to have a strong script. But, as of now, since everyone is super tired, all were chilling and taking rest!
