Daredevil will soon get another rendition it seems, courtesy of Disney+. It was announced that a new series based on the Marvel superhero is in the works at Disney+.

According to a report in Variety, the upcoming series will be written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the duo behind the American action drama Covert Affairs. Although rumours around the development of a new Daredevil show has been doing the rounds for quite a while, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made by the makers.

A series based on the Marvel comics character had been developed by Netflix, premiering on the platform in 2015. The show featured Charlie Cox as the titular protagonist, a role he reprised in a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The popular Netflix series ran for three seasons before it was cancelled by the streaming giant. The series recently exited the platform as well.

In addition to Cox, the Netflix show also featured Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent D'Onofrio. D'Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk or Kingpin in the Jeremy Renner,Hailee Steinfeld starrer series Hawkeye, which can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar. Ben Affleck too had a brief stint as the Marvel superhero in the 2003 film, Daredevil, which had opened to mixed reviews.

If confirmed, Daredevil will join the long list of Marvel superheroes who have headlined their own Disney+ shows. The streaming giant had also developed MCU shows such as Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye and Moon Knight, all of which can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
