Dev resigns from three posts before the elections

The Parliament election is just around the corner. At this moment, Dev suddenly resigned from three important posts in Ghatal. This step created a buzz on social media. On Saturday, Dev sent three letters to the district magistrate of East Midnapore and resigned from the respective posts.

Dev resigned from the post of vice chairman of Birsingha Unnayan Parshad, the post of president of Ghatal Rabindra College, and finally, the post of chairman of Ghatal Subdivision Hospital's Patient Welfare Committee.

It has been rumoured for a few days that Dev would retire from politics and concentrate on his film career. The resignations strengthened the speculations. However, there has not been any confirmation or direct indication from the actor-politician. According to political commentators, these three posts are not that important, but resigning just before the Parliament election has its significance. Sources claim that even the TMC did not know that Dev would take such steps. The reasons are also unclear. However, Dev is busy with his films currently.

Last year, three of Dev’s films were released, all of which did well at the box office. Three of his projects in 2024 have been announced. He is now busy with the shooting of Srijit Mukherji’s film Tekka, due to be released during Puja. Then he will start the work for Khadaan, whose recce has been done. Jisshu U Sengupta will also be featured in the film. Also, Dev and Avijit Sen’s new film is again coming this winter. However, this film's name is not yet known.
