Devi Sri Prasad, after Pushpa and Rowdy Boys, is back in action for F3, the spiritual sequel of F2: Fun and Frustration, directed by Anil Ravipudi. The comic caper starring Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada has managed to stay in the news owing to the makers' aggresive promotional strategy over the last couple of weeks. What can audiences expect from F3? What did the franchise demand from him as a composer? The music director answered all that and more in a recent media interaction.

Confident of F3's prospects at the box office, Devi assures that the film will live up to the hype and entertain audiences as expected. He felt Anil Ravipudi has done an impressive job in writing and executing the script to perfection. "Your stomach will hurt while you watch the film; F3 will remind you of the quality humour from the films made by EVV Satyanarayana and Jandhyala. Venkatesh and Varun Tej have done an incredible job in this entertaining movie that also comes with a message. This has more entertainment than its prequel," the composer said.

Reportedly, Anil Ravipudi's narration is as good as watching a film. "Watching him narrate is like watching a movie. He's full of life, even imitates and behaves like Venkatesh (garu) in his portions for one to know hsi timing; similar in the case of Varun Tej and the heroines. Anil is a terrific actor and the film's timing is proof of it. He finishes films at quick pace and the songs are more situational in F3 than F2," Devi Sri Prasad stated, adding that the filmmaker was in awe with the music of F3.

Talking of his association with producer Dil Raju, with whom he had collaborated regularly in the past (last for Rowdy Boys), Devi Sri Prasad said that he was family first and a producer next. "I love his passion for cinema and I think that's why our albums have always been successful. He's experienced many highs in his career, but approaches each project with the enthusiasm of a newcomer. He takes my opinion for all the music albums under his banner - regardless of me working for it or not," DSP stated.

In response to a question on the difference between composing melodies and special dance numbers in films, Devi replied that every melody has a basis to it and comes from a scene in relevance to the story. However, he finds it more liberating to compose dance numbers given the fact it is more entertainment-driven than story-driven. "I try to enjoy my music and see if it has the ability to make me dance. I like the fact that there no rules while composing for special numbers."

Adding that he takes the music of his fellow composers as an inspiration, Devi Prasad tells he never treats them as competition. Among his albums, he claims Rowdy Boys was his best but had to be released suddenly without enough promotions while adding that his other personal favourites, Good Luck Sakhi and Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu, didn't impress audiences the way he expected it to. Devi also shared his excitement about reuniting with Salman Khan again for Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
