Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who was seen in the first triple role in his career in Amigos earlier this year, is now back with the spy thriller Devil. Abhishek Nama directs and produces the periodic actioner under Abhishek Pictures. Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead in the film that also stars Malvika Nair in a crucial role. Srikanth Vissa has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the project.
While the film was to release in November, a few post-production formalities forced the makers to postpone the release date. After much suspense, the team has confirmed a new release date today. “The British's best-kept secret agent story, #DevilTheMovie, is about to be all yours on December 29th! Spytacular entertainment awaits you!,” the makers shared.

Devil will release in multiple languages including Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil. A new retro-styled poster featuring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in different avatars was also launched by the team. On December 29, Devil will clash with another small-budget film - Bugglegum - directed by Ravikanth Perepu that launches anchor Suma, Rajeev Kanakala’s son Roshan Kanakala.
This is Kalyan Ram’s second film with Samyuktha Menon, with whom he had acted in Bimbisara earlier. While Naveen Medaram came on board as the director for Devil, after a few creative differences with the production house, he was replaced by the producer Abhishek Nama. Harshavardhan Rameshwar scores the music for the project. Two songs from film - Maaye Chesi, This is lady Rosy - are out already.
While Devil has already wrapped its shoot, Kalyan Ram has moved on to NKR 21, which also features Saiee Manjrekar and Vijayashanthi in important roles. The film is directed by Pradeep Chilukuri. The actor’s earlier release Amigos, directed by Rajendra Reddy, can be streamed on Netflix. He is also producing his brother, actor Jr NTR’s upcoming two-part pan-Indian film - Devara.
