A day ago, Dhanush had announced that he is all set to team up with Tollywood filmmaker Venky Atluri for a bilingual flick titled Vaathi (Sir in Telugu). The actor-director-singer's Atrangi Re has started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar a few hours ago. As if this isn't enough, he has confirmed another project, too.

Debutant director Arun Matheswaran's Rocky, which released yesterday, had opened to rave reviews. There have been speculation on the filmmaker joining hands with Dhanush for his third movie. His second outing, Saani Kaayidham, has already been made, and there are unofficial news regarding the movie's direct release on Amazon Prime Video.

Confirming the speculation, Dhanush took to Twitter to say that he considers himself fortunate to be teaming up with Arun and that more details will be updated later. He tweeted, "Yes. The speculations are true. I am that fortunate actor who bagged @ArunMatheswaran‘s next directorial. More details soon. Om Namashivaaya (sic)."

Dhanush currently has Thiruchitrambalam, Naane Varuven and Maaran awaiting release, apart from the Hollywood flick The Gray Man. Maaran is said to have opted for a direct OTT release. An official announcement from the makers is awaited anytime soon.

Arun's sophomore project Saani Kaayidham also marks the acting debut of Dhanush's brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan. Even before the movie's release, he was roped in to play one of the antagonists in Vijay-starrer Beast. Keerthy Suresh and Selva play pivotal roles in Saani Kaayidham which is based on true incidents.

Rocky, which stars Vasanth Ravi and Bharathiraja as its protagonist and antagonist respectively, has been receiving praises from critics for its unabashed portrayal of violence, neatly choreographed action sequences and poetic cinematography. A couple of weeks ago, Dhanush had taken to Twitter to appreciate the movie's craft and performance of actors in it.
