Dhanush's next with Karthick Naren has been titled Maaran

The makers of #D43 had revealed on Tuesday that the first look and title of the project will be announced at 11am on July 28, on Dhanush's birthday. Director Karthick Naren took to his Twitter account earlier today and released a poster from the film, announcing that the movie is titled Maaran. Sources say that the actor will be seen playing a journalist in the film. The poster released by Karthick has Dhanush bashing up a baddie even as he holds a pen in his right hand. His tweet read, "His courage is his weapon. Proudly presenting the first look of #Maaran … Happy birthday @dhanushkraja." 

Later, Karthick posted a working still from Maaran to wish the actor on his special day. He tweeted, "Happy birthday @dhanushkraja sir. Everyday with you on set is a new learning experience for me. I owe it to you if I end up becoming a better filmmaker. Wishing you all good things in life #Maaran." The shooting of the film, which has Malavika Mohanan playing the female lead, is currently going on in full swing in Hyderabad. 

GV Prakash composes music for the movie, which is bankrolled by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan. Vivekanand Santhosham handles cinematography for the project which has screenplay by Vivek, Sharfu and Suhas, and editing by Prasanna GK. Stunt Silva and Vicky are choreographing action sequences for Maaran, which is Karthick's fourth directorial project. The filmmaker's long-pending second flick, Naragasooran, will be released on SonyLIV in August.
