Anil Kapoor took everyone by surprise on Instagram today. The Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022) actor deleted all his Instagram posts today morning. We were the first ones to report on this development. Though the official reason for this unexpected move is not known yet, a reliable report believes that Anil Kapoor did this to promote the sequel of the most iconic movie, Mr. India.

Why did Anil Kapoor delete his Instagram posts?

According to a fresh news report published on News 18, “Anil Kapoor has gone ‘invisible’ on social media as a point to kick off Mr India 2. Like his character in Mr. India (1987), he is going invisible on social media.”

When the news outlet contacted producer Boney Kapoor, who had earlier expressed his desire to create a sequel to the Anil Kapoor and Sridevi starrer, the filmmaker stated that he hadn't had the chance to check Anil's Instagram profile. He declined to comment on "Mr. India 2".

The only comment that Boney said to News 18 reads, “Let me see, I haven’t seen it myself. But he did mention to me that he wanted to show me something. I don’t think I will be able to talk about (Mr. India 2’s announcement) until everything matures.”

About Mr. India

The 1987 superhero film Mr. India, directed by Shekhar Kapur, was a collaborative effort between Boney Kapoor and Surinder Kapoor under the banner of Narsimha Enterprises. The story and screenplay were crafted by the iconic duo Salim–Javed, marking their final collaboration before parting ways. Featuring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Amrish Puri, the movie narrates the tale of Arun Verma (Kapoor), a humble violinist and philanthropist who acquires a cloaking device granting him invisibility. While renting out his house to settle debts, he encounters journalist Seema Sohni (Sridevi) and falls in love with her. Concurrently, the villainous Mogambo (Puri) harbors plans to conquer India.

Mr. India hit theaters on May 25, 1987, and proved to be a commercial triumph, securing the position of the second highest-grossing film of the year in the Indian box office, raking in ₹100 million.
