Shah Rukh Khan had starred in Farhan Akhtar’s Don film franchise, whose first instalment was a remake of the 1978 film starring Amitabh Bachchan.

On more than one occasion, fans have made it known that they are impatiently waiting for Farhan Akhtar to give them another instalment in the Don franchise- Don 3. And now it seems that the OG Don himself, Amitabh Bachchan, has also given fans a reason to be excited for another Don film.
Bachchan recently took to his official Instagram handle to share a photograph of himself and Shah Rukh Khan. The latter essayed the titular role in the Don remake. In the photo, Big B is seen signing what seems to be a poster of the original 1978 film, and SRK is seen beside. The caption of the post also had enough to excite Don fans. The caption read “…. and … errr … continuing in the same vein .. DON”.

Fans immediately took the post to be a hint that the highly awaited Don 3 was finally in the works. “Amitabh + SRK in DON”, wrote one fan. Another asked “What??? Is this a hint?”. Many others expressed excitement at seeing the duo clicked together.
This is not the first time that fans have expressed their desire to see another instalment. On several occasions, netizens had taken to social media to ask Akhtar when he would start working on Don 3. Fans’ anticipation has led to “Don 3” trending on Twitter on quite a few occasions.
Akhtar’s franchise was remade from the original 1978 film directed by Chandra Barot, which starred Bachchan as the titular character. The remake starred Khan as the titular protagonist, and also features Priyanka Chopra.
