Movie buffs were surprised when Kangana announced Emergency which has her playing the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Her appearance from the project garnered positive response from several quarters. Cinephiles have been eagerly waiting for the project which also marks the actress' sophomore directorial flick.

She is also producing it under the banner of Manikarnika Films Production. Makers have now unveiled a picture from its music session. GV Prakash, who is busy with a host of Tamil projects, is composing music for the film.

The picture has the composer-turned-actor seen playing music on his piano. Kangana is seen listening curiously to it. He was the composer for the actress' Thalaivii, too, which was released in 2021. Emergency has been slated for a release this year. The team has been eyeing October last week for its theatrical release.

GV Prakash is also busy with another Hindi project; the Hindi remake of Sudha Kongara's Soorarai Pottru. The Akshay Kumar-starrer will hit the screens on September 1. The musician had earlier revealed that he has attempted unique music in the ambitious movie.

Emergency, which has screenplay by Ritesh Shah, stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary and Milind Soman in pivotal roles. Tetsuo Nagata and Rameshwar S Bhagat are handling cinematography and editing respectively for the project.
