The latest Tamil web series, Tamil Rockerz, which released on SonyLIV on Friday, deals with a dreaded network which is into creating pirated versions of new films that just hit the screens. Arun Vijay, who plays the lead in the project, talks to OTTplay about the series and working with filmmaker Arivazhagan for the third time.
According to him, the team did a lot of research to collect details about the subject and he hopes that people will stop watching pirated sites after they watch the series.
He said, "It isn't that easy to ensure that these pirated websites stop functioning. The series, too, mentions the same. We might come up with a new season for the series in which we might talk about a one-stop solution to destroy the network of these criminals."
Interestingly, the actor plays a cop who doesn't like movies in the project which deals with issues plaguing the film industry. This came across as one of the interesting facets for Arun when the story was narrated to him.
"My character is someone who doesn't watch films and he is least concerned about the issue which affects the movie industry. All he is interested in is nabbing the culprits behind the crime. But gradually, he learns the difficulties people in the film industry face and becomes empathetic towards them," he said.
Working with Arivazhagan, he said, was a comforting experience as the duo had earlier joined hands for Kuttram 23 and Borrder. "He is a dedicated craftsman who is aware of his requirements. He doesn't compromise on quality and logical loopholes in screenplays. I'm glad that I got to collaborate with him again," Arun added.
