Actor Karan Tacker reunites with his "favourite" filmmaker Neeraj Pandey again for the upcoming action-packed web series, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. Karan plays the protagonist in the show, police officer Amit Lodha.

Karan earlier worked with Neeraj in the web series Special OPS and Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story.

The story of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter is set in Bihar, between 2000 and 2006, when the crime rate in Bihar was high. The story is the chase between a deadly criminal and a super cop, who is on a mission to catch the anti-social element who has put the state in unrest.

In conversation with OTTplay, Karan shares what went into playing a police officer in a series that is based on a real-life story.

Karan said, "Playing a super cop like Amit Lodha is a high for any actor. I wanted to him to be as real as possible in the series, because it is the story of a real-life cop. Amit Lodha's character is based on a police officer, who, after doing well in the UPSC exam opted for the IPS instead of the IAS, even though he had both choices. You see, the life of a police officer is much harder than that of an IAS officer. Imagine how earnest and how much passion the man had, who thought of becoming part of the system to change the system and eradicate crime."

According to the actor, that was the biggest motivation for him to play the character.

"While essaying this character, I had to be pure in my portrayal, because I constantly had it at the back of my mind that I was playing a man who easily gave up the comfort of being an IAS officer to become an IPS officer, and got his hands dirty with criminals. That was a huge motivation for me," Karan added.

Produced by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Dhruv Dhulia, the cop-crime drama Khakee: The Bihar Chapter also stars Avinash Tiwary, Abhimanyu Singh, Jatin Sarna, Nikita Dutta, Shraddha Das and Aishwarya Sushmita. It is set to release on Netflix on November 25.
